Online Shopping Tips
Before you begin your online shopping spree, here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Get organized. I cannot stress this enough! Have your gift list ready as well as a good idea of how much you're willing to spend on each person.
- Make sure that the site from which you are ordering is reputable and offers a secure method for credit card transactions.
- Pay close attention to item descriptions so that you have a good idea of the size and quantity. Also, take the time to read the store's return policy and any guarantees before making your purchase.
- When ordering perishables, have them shipped second day air or overnight to help ensure freshness upon arrival.
- Make sure that someone will be available to receive the delivery and provide alternate instructions in the event that no one is available.
- If shipping overseas, plan to place your order a good four to six weeks in advance (perishables are a bad idea). Alternatively, try to find a retailer in the region of the intended destination.
