Basic Food Groups: Chocolate

Another major chocolate company with online ordering is the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Rocky Mountain also displays pictures of their chocolates along with a full price list and order form. Sending chocolate gifts is now easier than ever!

I also found a site that's sending out free samples -- The Candy Store, a store located in Kansas City. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to specify that I wanted chocolate for my free sample. I'll be curious to see what I receive, if anything.

Of course, not all chocolate related sites are for purchasing chocolate. For instance, if you're a fan of "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory," you'll find a lot of useful information at the Unofficial Willy Wonka site. This site is filled with everything you ever wanted to know about this movie classic. You'll even find the wit and wisdom of Willy Wonka, the lyrics of the official Oompa Loompa song as well as links to other Wonka sites.

So, is chocolate really an aphrodisiac? Find out on All About Chocolate. So maybe it's possible that chocolate's better than sex. Nahhhhh ... but there is an interesting connection, and you can read more about it here.

Chocolate is one of my favorite indulgences, so researching this was visual and sensual torture. I did find it amusing that a search for "Mrs. Fields" resulted in a screen full of "blonde joke" links. What could this mean? In my quest for the best food related sites, I'm just thankful they haven't yet invented the "scratch 'n' sniff" browser!

Best wishes & happy surfing!

3/4 box Nilla Wafers, crushed
1 quart chocolate ice cream, softened
1 quart French vanilla ice cream, softened
6 Heath bars, crushed
Chocolate syrup

Line the bottom of a 10-inch spring-form pan with foil, and insert bottom into pan. Be sure that the seal is tight. Spread half of the Nilla wafers over the bottom of the pan to form a crust. Spread chocolate ice cream over the crust. Sprinkle remaining Nilla wafers and 3 of the Heath bars over the chocolate ice cream. Drizzle about 2 tablespoons of both the chocolate syrup and Kahlua over that. Top that with the vanilla ice cream. Sprinkle remaining Heath bars on top, and drizzle chocolate syrup and Kahlua on top to decorate. Freeze overnight.

Remove from pan before serving.
